The Man Who Can Still The Seas

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 18th of October 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“O Lord God of hosts,
Who is mighty like You, O Lord?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You.”
Psalm 89:8

“And they were afraid, and marvelled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the
winds and water, and they obey Him!”

Luke 8:25

What a mighty God, you and I serve and not only a mighty God but a faithful God. You know, I am a farmer, I am not very comfortable in the big seas, not at all. I like my feet on terra firm, on the ground, but I love to watch the sea and I have got the sea in my blood. My family originated from the North East of Scotland. They were fishermen. There is a place there called, Buchan, my surname, and there is a beautiful statue of a lady, a wife and her children, looking out to the North Sea, the merciless, freezing cold North Sea, where the menfolk have gone out to fish for food for their income.

Many a time, those ships do not come back. They get swallowed up in the storms in the sea. The ocean is something that can be terrifying, and yet the Lord Jesus Christ stood up out of the boat on the Sea of Galilee, that beautiful lake, where a storm can start in a matter of moments. He put His hand out and the seas and winds were calm. We have nothing to fear if we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He says,

“I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.”

Put your hand in the hand of the Man who can still the seas and calm the storms and He will see you safely home.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
