The Book of Life

I greet you in Jesus' precious name. It is Sunday morning the 30th of April, 2023 and this is your friend Angus Buchan with a thought for today. We start in the book of Proverbs - Chapter 13:13:

"He who despises the word will be destroyed,
But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded."

Then we go straight to John 1:1:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

We must never despise God's Holy Word, it is our lifeline to life, it is, in fact, Jesus Christ in print - Literally, the written word. I call it my agricultural manual and some people have criticized me they said "How can you be so disrespectful to the Word of God" I said oh no, folks - the Word of God is everything to me... You will never see a photo of me without me holding my Bible. My Bible is my life, my Bible has helped me out of so many situations folks - When I've been lonely, been overseas away from my dear wife Jill, that Bible has been a friend to me that sticks closer than any brother.

That Bible has given me godly counsel when people have asked me difficult questions... What should we do, should we get divorced or should we work through it? Should we go into business with an unbeliever or should we not? What is going to happen, do we leave the country or do we stay? I go to the Word of God every single time for the answer and only give the answer that I find in the Word of God. I'm talking about the whole Word of God, from the Book of Genesis right through to the Book of Revelation.

Oh, my dear friend, I want to caution you - We may not add anything to go to God's Holy Word and we may not take anything away from God's Holy Word. In the last book of the Bible, in the last chapter - I'm talking about Revelation 22:18-19:

"If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book..."

We cannot touch the Word of God. I really want to encourage you today, to start using this book as your compass, as your direction finder, as the answer to all of your problems and all you needs - You don't need any other book! This book is fool proof, it is wonderful, it is the desire of my heart to get to know this book even more. Please, today take, time out sit down with your family and read The Book, The Book of Life.
