This Man Called Jesus

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 17th of February, 2023 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 3:17

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 1:29

“Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”
John 1:35-36

Well, who is this Man called Jesus? Well, Jesus asked His disciple, Peter, “Who do people say that I am?” And Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ!”. I want to ask you this morning my dear friend, who do you say this Man is? This Man who even the waves and the wind obey? This man who walks on water, the one who raises the dead, the only man who has ever lived who said, “I AM, I am God, I AM.” Buddha never said that, Muhammad never said that, no other person has ever said that. Jesus said, “I AM”. Who turns the water into wine, who tells the woman, a stranger at the well, her whole life story? Who, after being brutally murdered, put in a tomb with a big stone being put against it, came back to life after three days? Who sent His Spirit to abide with us so that we may not be lonely? Who is coming back very soon to take you and me to be with Him in Heaven forever? He is not sending angels, He is coming Himself to a desperate and dying world.

You know, Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth, Jesus Christ, and you believe in your heart that He has been raised from the dead, you shall be saved. Oh, let's not hesitate today! Do you remember that song? It goes like this:

Oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
There is something about the Name
Oh, Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain.

Oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim,
Kings and Kingdoms will all pass away
But there is something about that Name!

Jesus bless you today,

Goodbye.
