Precious Pearls

Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
— Matthew 7:6

Very, very strong words spoken by the Lord, Himself - The Lord Jesus Christ. And then we go to Proverbs:

“Do not speak in the hearing of a fool,
For he will despise the wisdom of your words.”
Proverbs 23:9

Today, we need to guard our hearts. We need to be very careful who we share intimate things with. Remember, familiarity breeds contempt. Don’t share the precious pearls of the gospel with someone who has no intention of changing or even listening to what you have to say. Remember, timing is very, very important. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and His very life, yes, they are for free, but they are not cheap - Remember, it cost Him everything.

Many years ago, I was holding a campaign at the Orient Theatre, just on the shores of the Indian Ocean at East London, South Africa. It was a wonderful evening. We had a packed-out house and I was preaching my heart out. Then there was a heckler sitting in the back row and he was shouting the odds. Every time I would say something he would say: “Can you prove it... Show me where it says that in the Bible."

He had a bottle of beer in his hand, a cowboy hat on and his feet were on the back of the seat in front of him and he was causing trouble. But of course, we are familiar with that type of situation because we like to preach to the 'whosoevers'. Some of our ushers came quietly and just escorted him out of the building and I continued preaching the precious Gospel of Christ.

After the meeting was finished we had prayed for salvation and the sick. I was leaving the auditorium and this man was sitting outside, waiting for me. He said to me, “Preacher, I want to debate with you about the Bible and Jesus!” I said to him: “Sir, I will not speak to you now because you are drunk. Come back tomorrow, when you are sober and then we will speak about the precious pearls of the Gospel.” Needless to say, the next day he never came back but you know, the wonderful news is I got a report some weeks later after we had returned to the farm, to say that that heckler had bowed the knee and given his life to Jesus Christ.

Go out today and share the precious Word of the Lord to the 'whosoevers'.

“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Have a wonderful day but be sensitive about who you share the precious pearls of the Gospel with. God bless you.
