A New Creation

…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
— Romans 6:4

You and I must not be concerned about the murmurings of the world. It should not affect us - No! It is only what God thinks about us that really should count. We are not to focus on the dead but on life, and life everlasting. Our King is not dead - He is very much alive... One of my favourite verses in the Bible:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he (or she) is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

We are new creations, we have come out of slavery. We have come out of Egypt and you and I are not going back there ever again. We are now homeward bound.

You know Billy Graham, that great evangelist - He wrote: "You know, one day you will read in the newspapers that the evangelist, Billy Graham has died.” He said, “Don’t believe a word of it. I won’t be dead, I will simply have changed address!” Oh wonderful!

I went the other day to visit the dearest old lady. We sat on the verandah of her farmhouse and we had a cup of tea. I asked her if I could pray with her and she said she has got lots of questions - we were talking about Heaven. And I said to her, ”I don’t have all the answers about Heaven but one thing I know - I know the one who has gone ahead to prepare a mansion for me in Heaven and for those who love Him.” John 14:1 -6

I said to her, “Good people don’t go to Heaven. Believers go to Heaven.” And so I took her precious hands in mine and we started praying the sinners prayer together. She stopped me right in the middle of the prayer and with a sparkle in her eyes, she said to me, “Angus, I have done this before, you know.” I smiled and said, “I know... so have I, many times, but lets do it again.” And we prayed together.

You see, my dear friends, Romans 10:9 says that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart, that He has been raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. Maybe you would also like to pray that little prayer with me this morning? If you would, please pray after me:

Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner but I thank You Lord that You died for all my sins on the Cross of Calvary. And Lord, I also acknowledge that You are not dead. You are not in a tomb. You are alive and You are in Heaven and You are coming back one of these fine days, to take me to be with you forever in Paradise. In Jesus’ mighty name,

Amen.

God bless you and have a wonderful day.
