The Paracletus

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
— Acts 2:1-4

And then just one other very special scripture:

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Romans 8:11

What a promise from God, the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. One of the most amazing encounters I have ever experienced in my entire life happened at the lowest point on earth, 400m below sea level, at a place called Ein Gedi, at the Dead Sea in Israel on 30th September 2012, at about 8 p.m. The International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem had asked me, very kindly, to be their speaker. They were having a Feast of Tabernacles conference. Approximately 5,000 delegates were present from all the nations of the world - 18 interpreters, I believe, that very night.

It was extremely hot. I was called up onto the platform and I spoke from the very scripture that I have just read to you now. There was a visitation of the Holy Spirit like I have never ever experienced before. As I finished speaking, I walked around the front of the lectern and I said, “Lord, Holy Spirit, please do it again.” And a huge wind arose from nowhere, blowing so hard that the very musical instruments were starting to get blown off the platform. I remember the musicians running up to try and save their equipment, it was amazing. Then it started raining - Now it never rains in that place. Then the crowd started running to the front to worship God.

The stage crew, Orthodox Jews, who were lashing the structure to try and hold it from falling, shouted to me, “Tell the crowd to go back. Go back! The stage is going to collapse!” I have never done that in my life before. I have never told anyone to return from an altar call, a night I shall never, ever forget in my life. The Holy Spirit is as real to me right now as you are listening to this message.

He is more real, in fact. He is called The Paracletus - It's a Greek word, it means, “Helper”. Please read John 16:7 and you will see Jesus sent Him to help us. Call on Him today - He will help you.

Have a wonderful Pentecost Sunday.

God bless you!
